"Happiness is when what you think,
what you say, and what you do are in harmony." –Gandhi
True happiness comes when you
accomplish what you set your mind to do. Of course the thought or idea of doing
something can make you happy, but you don’t accomplish true happiness until you
actually do it. The easy part for starting any task, is saying you will do it.
The true challenge lies in acting on and completing it.
What Gandhi meant by this quote is
that whether you are looking to accomplish a specific goal, or something else
you truly desire, the key is to make sure your mind, body and actions are
working towards the same goal. As you continue to work towards that goal, you
will feel the greatest amount of happiness and self-satisfaction.
Many people believe that true
happiness is obtained for the world, others, or material things. But in truth, happiness
can only be obtained within you. When what you think, say, and do are all on
the same page is when you will be truly happy with yourself. For example,
someone may have the thought going graduating from a four year university and
then going on to grad school. That person may even say it many times to themselves
and to others. Just the idea of those goals would most likely make the average
person happy. But the true happiness won’t come until the goals are
accomplished. Because “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what
you do are in harmony”.
